The World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) is seeking an experienced journalist for its Research and Insights team to drive WAN-IFRA’s research activities and to contribute topic-oriented content and analyses for its various content platforms.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage WAN-IFRA’s panel research activities with its various communities, WAN-IFRA community leaders (Directors) and the Insights team of journalists.

  • Coordinate, drive and produce insights and analyses based on surveys of the different WAN-IFRA communities.

  • Work with WAN-IFRA community leaders to help identify key topics to research and report on.

  • Help create and coordinate the presentation of reports on various surveys, both in content and occasionally at events and webinars.

  • Lead the data collection, analysis and delivery of Trends & Outlook reports with external analysts and the Insights team of journalists.

  • Writing, rewriting and proofing of content and reports as an integral part of the Insights team.


  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing and reporting, as well as research-related experience.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

  • Deep knowledge of the key trends shaping news media strategy.

  • Knowledge of data collection, data visualisation, particularly with survey models.

  • Strong social media skills for sharing insights.

  • Self-starter; capable of working independently.

  • Embrace working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Experience in a news media organisation is a plus.
